The Multi-Talented Team
To the Marlboro Track Family —
I hope that this communication finds you and your loved ones doing well and that those student’s who are engaging in remote learning and/or are in the classroom are doing their very best.
The purpose of this communication is to provide you with an update on the 2021 Track Season. I have attended meetings with both AAU and USATF about the 2021 Season. USATF Potomac Valley will not be hosting any indoor track and field meets or offering practice facilities at the Complex. The Complex remains slated to offer vaccines against COVID-19. Additionally, there are presently no Indoor Meets scheduled for PVAAU.
Based on information provided at the USATF meeting in February, the hope and plan is that Teams in the Potomac Valley will be able to field an Outdoor Season, albeit delayed. However, at present, no Teams in the Potomac Valley are scheduled to host meets. The THOUGHT/HOPE is that Teams will be able to start practice in late April/early May with meets (on a much smaller scale) hosted in June, July and/or August. Marlboro, like USATF and AAU, are closely monitoring CDC Guidelines, as well as, State restrictions with the safety of our athletes being our number one priority.
Noting that we MAY be able to field a Team this year for Outdoor, we will be sending out information to begin building our Team and “getting our athletes engaged and ready,” and will be soliciting each parent's support to ensure their success.
